Membership Membership is the life-blood of the NAACP. We depend on our members’ generosity to insure the NAACP’s independence. We are in the process of updating our membership rolls and we need your help. You, our members are the critical link in managing a successful Branch. Your continued financial supports (membership dues) are essential to the maintenance of the Branch. A portion of your membership remains with the local branch. We are strictly a volunteer organization with no salaried employees. The portion of your dues that remain in the community pay for local programs (newsletter, office supplies, mail, phones, website, scholarships). Your board members receive no financial support for mileage or travel to national meetings. Yet we remain on the forefront of the struggle for civil rights in Omaha. The Omaha Branch has been serving this community since 1914. You can help us continue this powerful legacy.
